Can the slim ps3 play ps2 games?

So I just bought the 160 GB slim black ops bundle. I was exploring youtube and saw a video of Steambot Chronicles I was about to order online but I looked online and other people said they can't but this was like 2 years ago. Is there any update or something? Thanks in advance.
